Swiss Re fighting fit for the Active Norfolk Fit4Work Corporate Games 2011
In the lead up to this year’s Fit4Work Corporate Games, Swiss Re’s Admin Re office in Norwich has joined Active Norfolk’s Fit4Work project.
This free project is available to all organisations in Norfolk and, with physically active people taking 27% fewer days off sick, there is a real business case for being involved!
The Norwich office involvement began on Friday 18th March, with an indoor cycling challenge held in aid of Comic Relief. Active Norfolk provided indoor cycling equipment, and employees cycled a collective distance of more than 750 km throughout the day.
Admin Re has just completed a consultation process with staff, as part of the project, to establish the current health of staff and what activities they're interested in. With more than 200 staff responding, this free consultation service gives a detailed picture of the interests of staff, allowing Active Norfolk to establish a bespoke action plan of fun and interesting activities.
The company will continue its sporting endeavours by entering three teams into the Fit4Work Corporate Games on Friday 10th June, an event that they sponsor. The games are being held at the UEA Sportspark for the third year running and will welcome companies from across Norfolk to a day of sports activities.
The games offer a unique opportunity for both staff and clients to get together to show off their teamwork and sporting skills against teams from other local businesses. The Fit4Work Corporate Games promises to be an action packed day, providing teams the opportunity to network and promote themselves to potential customers.
An ideal occasion for teams to spend some time together outside of the office, the competitive nature of the event will encourage team building, while a day's exercise will contribute to bringing down stress levels and re-energising staff!
Shelley Starkings, Sports Development Project Officer at Active Norfolk says
“We are thrilled that the Norwich Admin Re office has joined our Fit4Work project, as it will allow us to give something back to an organisation that has so fully supported us in the last 3 years, through the sponsorship of the Corporate Games. We are looking forward to delivering some fun sporting opportunities to their staff in the near future.”
