BUILDING BUSINESS LINKS WITH COLOGNE’S FINANCIAL WORLD
There was a chance to build even stronger business bridges between Britain and Germany at a conference in London recently.
Titled ‘Opportunity Cologne', it illustrated all the opportunities available to UK businesses considering trade or investment in Germany.
And once again, Fig was flying the flag for our financial services sector at the conference which was led by the British Chamber of Commerce in Germany.
It was also an opportunity to reflect on the many similarities between Cologne and Norwich.
Like its Norfolk counterpart, Cologne has:
- Become a leading insurance centre for its country
- Strong education and academic links with industry
- A high proportion of professionally qualified financial staff
- A top quality life style that attracts and retains best staff.
“It was a great opportunity to see how a leading insurance centre promotes itself” said Fig Director Marjorie Eade.
The event included presentations about the financial industry and its importance and operation in Cologne, along with a case study on Generali Insurance.
