INDIAN INDUSTRY LEADERS HOST TALKS ON GLOBAL RECESSION
The impact of the global recession on trade and investment between India and the UK was the subject of top-level talks in London recently.
Fig Director Marjorie Eade was an invited delegate at the exclusive conference and evening reception staged at Centre Point by the Confederation of Indian Industry, the equivalent to our CBI.
There were key speakers and participants from both countries anxious to air their thoughts and suggestions for ‘Managing Global Crisis’.
For Marjorie, it was also the chance to renew her acquaintance with Richard Lambert, Director-General of the CBI, who last January launched Fig’s operation from its new offices within the National Skills Academy for Financial Services.
Along with Mr Lambert, other key people taking part included: Lord Adair Turner, Chairman, Financial Services Authority; Richard Stagg, High Commissioner of UK to India; Shiv Shankar Mukherjee, High Commissioner of India to UK; Chandrajit Banerjee, Director General, Confederation of Indian Industry; and guest of honour, Anand Sharma, Minister for Commerce and Industry, India, as well as Chief Executives and senior figures from Indian industry, including organisations such as Tata Consulting.
